Asimbonge Madanono joins forces with Records Broken Movement to bring to you live a strictly Hip-Hop and R&B show.
Newcastle has hosted a lot of shows bringing artist from all over the place including mainstream artists. The city is home to a lot of talented artists from the projects like Osizweni and Madadeni all the way to the suburbs like Arbor Park and Aviary Hill yet there's never been a sign of an impactful Hip-Hop/R&B Show.
It easy to say Artists are lazy, Promoters are selfish or Artist do not want to work together but those are just excuses. The truth is some artists are bigger than other artists putting aside skill, some artists would perform for free and some would rather be paid. With proper booking, promotion and attention all artists will have the platform to showcase their talent.
We have seen a lot of people planning these kind of shows and failing, WHY? is it the lack of support or is it that Newcastle is not 'Culture' dominated ? well the answer is simple, POOR PLANNING. It is easy to say all these things but not make AN ACTION PLAN.
Asimbonge Madanono said he wants to make this a Culture show inviting top notch artists, a variety of local clothing brands and local businesses. It is too soon to tell when will this show happen because planning is still on phase one, We need YOU yes You to contribute in making this show a possibility not necessarily money, we currently on a budget and have no proper venue and no sponsors. It is time for NN artists not to ask WHAT CAN THE SHOW DO FOR THEM but ask WHAT CAN THEY DO FOR THE SHOW.
